Speak Savvy 101

Speak Savvy 101 gives spokespeople the skills to communicate more effectively with minimal theory, lots of practice; chalk and talk, video of good and bad examples by well known spokespeople and lots of rehearsal.

We help spokespeople, cause ambassadors, CEOs, company directors, chairs of committees – anyone likely to be speak to media or the great unwashed – to be informed, confident and persuasive spokespeople.

We don’t advise on fashion, neuro-linguistic programming, hand shaking or extravagant use of first names in a bid to create intimacy with your interviewer. We’ll leave that to other trainers. We will spend time developing rigorous effective answers, examples, hypotheticals and arguments. We’ll look at your key audiences; their perceptions and how to tackle them. And we’ll do lots of rough and tumble interview rehearsal.

Oxfam, Australian Conservation Foundation, Seeing Eye Dogs Australia, Salvation Army, Plan, ChildFund, Marie Stopes, Amnesty International Australia, St Vincent de Paul, AnTAR and the Australian Physiotherapists Association. We’ve dealt with issues ranging from reconciliation, to child neglect and sex slavery.

Hootville Communications knows that everyone has different styles and abilities. There’s no one way to be an effective speaker but everyone can improve with coaching, rehearsal and practice.

We can work one-to-one but usually work with a group of  to 12 people from one organisation. That said; we regularly deliver Savvy Speaker 101 to a mix of people drawn together by their local council, industry association, alliance or peak body in far greater numbers.
